“Freedom From Financial Fear”

Part 2
Phillipians 4:19

  1. Introduction
    1. God's promise:
    2. (Phillipians 4:19)
      And my God… will meet… all your needs… according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

    3. There are conditions:
      1. God says, “I will meet all your needs if you are my child.”
  2. God Will Meet All Our Needs IF:
    1. We are His child.
    2. We ask.

      (James 4:2–3)
      2 You do not have, because you do not ask God.
      3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasure.

      1. We would rather be in debt and spend more than ask!
      2. God is a loving Father and wants to give!
      3. (John 16:24)
        Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

    3. We are content.

      (Phillipians 4:11–13)
      11 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.
      12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
      13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.

      1. God knows things will not make us happy and is more concerned about our character than our comfort.
      2. If we are only contented with things, it is idolatry.
      3. Contentment is being grateful for what we do have and trusting our reliable Father.
  3. Conclusion
    1. God does not want us to be afraid but trust Him and His goodness.
    2. You’ve heard part of the story, we're only half way to freedom from financial fear. Next week you’ll hear the “Rest of the Story”… don’t miss it!
    3. This week, enjoy being His child, ask for things you want and be content with what He has already given you.
