“The Power of Purpose:
Spiritually Liberated, Personally Connected”

Habakkuk 2:1-3

INTRODUCTION: Everything has a purpose. Without a purpose nothing matters.

  1. Spiritually liberated
    1. Spiritual connectedness (verse 1)
    2. Difficulty in connecting: peer pressure, parental pressure
      1. The opposite state is one of separateness
      2. One is convinced that happiness comes from outside themselves. Romans 12:1-2
    3. If you want a relationship with God, take the initiative.
      1. Climb into the watch tower (verse 1)
      2. Listen - The Lord said (verse 2)
    4. Ultimately spirituality is a choice
      1. Let go of the ego and trust God
      2. Albert Einstein said, "Try not to become a man of success, but try to become a person of value."
  2. Personally connected to Purpose
    1. What is Success?
      1. A progressive realization of a worthy ideal.
    2. The reason of life is to find yourself not prove yourself.
      1. Write your purpose large and clear (verse 2)
      2. “The Lord Said” (verse 2)
      3. Read it to everyone (verse 2)
    3. When you create the knowledge that the purpose will be fulfilled, you change your reaction in that area of your life.
    4. Goals
      1. Should implement your written purpose
      2. Only 3% of goals are reached
    5. Methods
      1. Ways and ideas of reaching goals
      2. People who cannot attain their goals become consumed with disappointment.
      3. Purpose, Plan, Patience (verse 3)
  3. Life Purpose: Serve
    1. Something you bring forth out of your commitment.
    2. Something you are passionate about.
    3. When your life is about serving your needs will be met.
    4. Bible: Galatians 5:13, Matthew 20:26
