Anyone experiencing the grief and pain of loss is welcome to be part of this seminar! The group will be facilitated by a highly experienced and compassionate nurse and the Director of HealthCare Ministries, Debbie Jones.

This seminar/support group will be based on Understanding Your Grief: Ten Essential Touchstones for Finding Hope and Healing for Your Heart by Alan D. Wolfelt, Ph.D. and one of the world's foremost thanatologists.

Join in the adventure each Wednesday night!

Caravan is a weekly kids club committed to the physical, social, mental, and spiritual growth of children. It uses an active hands-on learning approach to help kids discover, develop, experience, and grow.

First through sixth graders discover essential physical, social, mental, and spiritual skills. They develop self-esteem through recognition and experience positive interaction with caring adults and peers. Caravaners grow in their understanding of and appreciation for being part of God's church family.

The class is led by certified yoga instructor Shelly Quirring. The cost is a voluntary donation. Childcare is provided in room 115.

DivorceCare^® helps you recover from the pain of separation and divorce. There aren't many people around you who understand the pain your separation or divorce has caused. To you. Your family. Your friends.

That's the reason for DivorceCare. It's a special weekly support group and seminar conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Most importantly, you'll learn how to deal with the pain of the past and look forward to rebuilding your life.

Support Groups

At DivorceCare, you'll become part of a small support group of people who are also experiencing separation and divorce. You'll meet others who understand what you are feeling and who will be able to offer you encouragement. You'll also have a chance to talk about the information presented during the DivorceCare seminar. Many participants say these support groups are the most helpful part of the program.

Freedom from your hurts, hang-ups, and habits

Celebrate Recovery^® is a Biblical based recovery program for anyone who senses their life presently is unmanageable. This is a format that encourages anonymity, and yet provides personal support that is powerful and effective because of God and the mutual encouragement of fellow travelers on the "journey".

Who?

All who are seeking help are welcome. The leaders are fellow travelers who know what it is to struggle with various habits, hurts, and hang-ups. Of course, anonymity is encouraged.

Where?

We meet at Tempe Nazarene Church, 3929 S. Rural Rd., Tempe, AZ in Room 101 on the SW corner of the campus. Signs will point you from a nearby parking lot in front of the building.

When?

Because Friday evenings are often a challenge for those who need Celebrate Recovery, we meet at 7:00 p.m. every Friday evening including holidays. Our meetings typically start with a celebration and teaching time, then we take a break, and move into small groups for processing and support.

What is the Leadership Training Seminar?

Leadership Training Seminar is an intense discipleship experience that will cover not only how to become a committed disciple of Jesus but also how to disciple others through your regular influence and care. This seminar will also deal with major lay theological issues and practices, such as the Word of God in the Life of the Believer, the Nature of Man, the Nature of God, the Born Again Experience, the Spirit-filled-Life, Spiritual Warfare, Spiritual Gifts, Temptation, Faith, Leadership, Personal Evangelism, Developing Priorities, and much more.

We will memorize one Bible verse per week, establish a personal devotional life—including regular scripture reading, prayer, journaling, and approximately fifty pages of assigned great Christian reading per week.

Where will we meet?

The Leadership Training Group Seminar will meet in Room 101 of Tempe Nazarene Church, 3929 S. Rural Road, Tempe, Arizona, 85282, every Monday for the next two years.

When will we meet?

We will meet on Mondays from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. beginning September 13, 2010. Since one topic depends on the processing of another and upon the group process itself, we'll ask that participants be regular in attendance.

Who can join this exciting process?

The Leadership Training Seminar is open to any Christian in quest of a deep, rich, meaningful life with God. If you've always wondered how to feed yourself spiritually, this may be for you. If you've wondered about how to overcome temptation and addiction to the world, this may be for you. If you've wondered how to go about "making disciples," this may be for you.

Who will lead this seminar?

Pastor Lane and Lois Zachary will facilitate this experience during the next two years.

What is the cost?

The initial materials, course notebook with dividers, Discipleship Journal, course text book, and first reading book will cost $50 at the beginning of session one. Thereafter, the only expense will be one or two reading books per month average, approximately $10 to $15 per book.

Of course, the far greater cost is in your willingness to invest significant portions of your time each day and week in this great adventure with Christ.

All are welcome to join the PrimeTime Summer Lunch Outing. We'll be going to Denny's right across the freeway from the church (Rural Road and US 60).

Taped at the 2007 Deeper Still event, three women explored their lives and the life of David. Anointed, Transformed, Redeemed: A Study of David contains the audio and video portions of the Deeper Still conference featuring Beth Moore, Priscilla Shirer, and Kay Arthur.

You'll laugh with them, cry with them, and learn to love God with them. These authors' messages are divided into three segments, two lessons each. Each segment focuses on the life of David at a different stage of his life: as a young man (by Priscilla Shirer), as a middle-aged man (by Beth Moore), and as a man facing the final third of his life (by Kay Arthur).

Childcare is available and preregistration is required. The cost is $18.00 for the workbook. It will last for seven weeks and will be facilitated by Diane Fine.

The Alabaster Offering provides funds for property and buildings around the world. It gives a sense of permanence, the attitude that the Church of the Nazarene intends to “put down roots”. The entire offering goes toward the construction of churches, schools, medical facilities, and homes for missionaries and national workers. Eighty percent is used in world mission areas, and twenty percent goes to multicultural congregations in the United States and Canada. Alabaster funds help provide land for most Work & Witness projects.
